If you want fresh baguette, croissant, pain au chocolat like in France, come here. It is small but his produces all made by him are delicious, simple and authentic. Deserve to be supported locally around takapuna. Makes good coffee too. Recommended.

I can't believe I didn't know this place was here, been coming to the Laundromat almost daily for months and then driving down the Road to Daily Bread or Centro (also excellent coffee joints). This guy/place is just as good. I love that it's a hole in the wall, that he bakes his own gorgeous artisan breads and pastries, and that he's just quietly working away like a little beaver amongst all the Hauraki corner shops. It reminds me of art school days going into random hidden gem coffee joints around K-Rd. It was lovely to see the kids run in and to sit on the old yellow benches outside to do my admin in the sun while I waited for my washing ....

the Pain au Chocolat is about as authentic as it gets! Wow wow next level good coffee too. For someone who spend 4 years in France trying to find real Pain au Chocolat in NZ is hard! And good time Jo has the best I’ve found so far.

This is what a Pain au Chocolat should be!!! This is the best, most authentic place I’ve found for amazing French pastries and breads. So friendly and absolutely worth going to!

Favourite bakery - does great bread and is less than 5 minutes walk away. Had a plain croissant and oat latte on my second day of moving to the neighbourhood, and boy, did I hit the jackpot to me, it tasted like the ones from a casual bakery along the streets of Paris (admittedly it's been a decade). Nonetheless, it is still very, very good. Chocolate lovers could try the Pain au Chocolat. My partner doesn't eat bread but would willingly eat this every day if he could afford to. Almond croissants are super popular too - very generous with the filling and almonds. Corn bread is A-MA-ZING! Options change daily. There's only one photo because I always end up eating everything before taking a photo. Highly recommend - as much as I'd like to gatekeep..but it's okay. I'll just wake up early and walk over to get my fix. Price option is $10 per person if you get a bread only. Total transparency, I could get up to $50+ just so I can try everything.
